Crowns, Bridges and Veneers
You will have received a local anaesthetic for the preparation of your crown, bridge or veneer so it is important that you take care not to nip your soft tissues whilst they are still numb.
You will have had temporary crowns, bridges or veneers fitted which are made of acrylic. Acrylic is a rougher material then enamel or porcelain so do not be alarmed if it does not feel quite as smooth as your tooth felt prior to the temporary restoration being fitted.
Acrylic is also porous in nature so we advise you to avoid foods or drinks that are highly pigmented in nature and may cause your temporary restoration to stain.
If you are having multiple teeth prepared, the temporary crowns or veneers may be joined together. This makes them less likely to dislodge whilst waiting for your permanent restorations to be fitted. Obviously at this stage it will be impossible to floss between the teeth, they must however be brushed thoroughly, concentrating especially on the gum margins.
